Plenty of footage never becomes anything. A launch was covered, a wedding was filmed, a product day went well, and the drive has been sitting on a shelf since. Video editing is a standalone service at Raw Studio precisely because so much of the country’s footage is stranded at that stage.
Give us the rushes, a reference for the feel you want, and the platforms it has to land on. We come back with a structured cut, a proper grade, a sound mix that survives phone speakers, and the versions each platform actually needs — not one master file and a shrug.

Getting footage to us
Most clients send a drive to the Colombo studio or share the media through a cloud folder. Before anything is quoted we want to know roughly how much material there is, what it was shot on, whether audio was recorded separately, and what the finished piece has to do. Those four answers determine most of the effort in a post job.
What makes an edit expensive or cheap
Not length — volume and complexity. Forty hours of multi-camera event footage takes longer to sift than a scripted shoot with a shot list. Interview-led films need transcription and paper edits. Heavy graphics, 3D inserts and VFX clean-up add build time. A single master is faster than fifteen platform versions. We tell you which of these is driving your quote so you can adjust the brief rather than guess.
If the footage has problems
Overexposed skies, mismatched white balance between cameras, wind on the audio, shaky handheld, missing coverage — most of this can be improved and some of it can be fixed. What we will not do is promise a rescue we cannot deliver. Send a sample clip before committing and you get an honest read on what the material will support. If the answer is that a short reshoot would cost less than the repair, we will say so — and we can shoot the pickups ourselves.

Can you edit footage that someone else shot?
Yes — that is most of this service. We work with material from cinema cameras, DSLRs, drones and phones, including multi-camera and separately recorded audio.
How do I send you my footage?
Drop a drive at the Colombo studio or share the media through a cloud folder. Tell us how much material there is, what it was shot on and whether audio was recorded separately, and we can scope the job from that.
Do you provide subtitles in Sinhala and Tamil?
Yes, burned-in or as separate subtitle files, in English, Sinhala and Tamil.
Can you fix badly shot footage?
Often, partly. Exposure, colour mismatch, shake and audio noise can usually be improved. Missing coverage cannot be invented. Send a sample clip and we will tell you honestly what the material will support before you commit.
Do I get the project files?
On request, yes — project files and organised media can be handed back at the end of the job.
